Description : Vadakkunnathan temple, one of the oldest temples in the state, is the central attraction of the city. The temple is a classical example of Kerala style architecture and has many decorative murals and pieces of art. Thekkinkadu Maidan (ground) surrounding the temple is the venue of the world famous Pooram festival celebrated annually in April -May every year.
